Lenzing an der Ager

A warm welcome to the town municipality of Lenzing on the Ager River!

The town center with its service hub forms a compact core. The surrounding villages consist of small rural hamlets or larger residential areas such as Pichlwang, Gallaberg, Alt Lenzing, Oberachmann, and Unterachmann. A distinct area is formed by the approximately 1.6 km² industrial zone of Lenzing AG.

The different characteristics of these villages, with their high recreational and leisure value—especially the beautiful natural area of the outdoor swimming facility Bad Wengermühle—along with the well-developed infrastructure throughout the municipality, ensure a high quality of living. Numerous social institutions such as two kindergartens, two primary schools, a sports-focused middle school, a music school, after-school care, a parent-child center, a municipal nursing home, senior apartments, and assisted living significantly enhance the quality of life for all generations.

In the coming years, the new BadeOase is planned to include a sports center. Modern playgrounds and the parent-child center for toddlers further highlight Lenzing’s child- and youth-friendly environment.

The cultural center, opened in July 2003, quickly became a hub for culture enthusiasts in and around Lenzing. Gymnasiums, the triple sports hall, the facilities of the Waldstadion, and a cinema complete the leisure offerings. Thanks to its central location, Lenzing is the ideal base for excursions into the Salzkammergut region and the Hausruckwald forest. The newly designed city library has been relocated into the newly built service center.

Lenzing’s location on the Ager—at the gateway to the Salzkammergut—makes it easy to reach the region’s lakes and ski resorts, as well as the state capitals Linz (approx. 70 km via the western motorway) and especially Salzburg (approx. 60 km via the western motorway) with its world-famous sights. Not to be forgotten: the nearby district capital Vöcklabruck, just 6 km away, with its baroque town square and various historically significant buildings.
