Müstair is home to the St. Johann Monastery, founded by Charlemagne and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Whether in summer as a welcome cool-down or in winter as a natural ice sculpture - the small waterfall "Cascada da Pisch" is definitely worth a visit.

With around 700 inhabitants, Müstair is the largest village in Val Müstair. The Benedictine monastery of St. Johann is visible from far and wide and is today the figurehead par excellence. Because of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, guests flock to the valley in droves. The monastery also gave the valley its name. The Latin "monasterium", which means nothing less than monastery, became Müstair.
