Megève

Megève is a typical mountain village in the heart of the Mont Blanc region (Haute-Savoie, France, 1 hour from Geneva airport). It's in this exceptional natural environment that we live generation after generation to the rhythm of the 4 seasons, creating new memories with family and friends.

The history of tourism in Megève goes back as far as the 19th century, when the first visitors were pilgrims who met on the Calvaire Way. Soon after, visitors continued to come to Megève in search of fresh air where they could enjoy the benefits of nature.

Megève is made up of hilly landscapes that surround the village, with different panoramas that provide extraordinary sunshine all year round: wild expanses, flower-filled mountain pastures, majestic peaks and massifs with gentle slopes and verdant forests.

From the peaceful farming village where the inhabitants benefited from rich, fertile soil, to the ski resort developed by the Rothschild family, Megève has always had the charm and character of an authentic village with mountain architecture. It's a whole that's still preserved today, thanks to its exceptional past, the richness of its heritage and the traditions and skills perpetuated by the people who brought it into being.

The Evasion Mont-Blanc and Les Portes du Mont-Blanc ski resorts offer 400 km of pistes for all types of skier, from beginners to experts, not to mention around forty mountain restaurants for gourmets!

Today, 51 farms and producers offer seasonal produce to local chefs. From Michelin-starred gourmet cuisine to traditional restaurants and international culinary art, Megève is recognised as the capital of Alpine cuisine and the ambassador of locavore gastronomy "from field to plate".
