This varied and technically demanding circular route starts in Cardada and initially follows a flow trail through the forest towards Bassa di Cardada. After emerging from the trees, the climb to Cima della Trosa (1,869â¯m), the highest point of the route, begins. The ascent is challenging but features a steady gradient, making it runnable for experienced trail runners.
From the summit, a fast and smooth descent leads to Bassa di Bietri – perfect for finding your rhythm again. This is followed by another climb to Alpe Cardada, before a technical descent takes you down to the Monti di Chiodo. From there, the trail rises slightly once more to return to Cardada – the prelude to the final descent to Brè sopra Locarno.
The finish is close: only one last climb remains, requiring strength and determination to complete the loop and return to the starting point.
