From Latschenwirt over Tannenwinkel to Wolfschwang

This family-friendly circular route starts at the Latschenwirt inn and combines nature, exercise, and small adventures for young and old. Right at the beginning awaits the forest quiz path, later a Kneipp facility – and in Wolfschwang you can even admire a few animals.

Our route does not go along the wide forest road but leads over the Tannenwinkel – scenic, but somewhat more challenging. Especially in wet weather or in winter, sturdy footwear is recommended. After a few meters on long-distance trail 404, path no. 54 branches off to the right. Over a small bridge, it goes steeply uphill for about 15 minutes – over roots, stones, and forest floor. The narrow “Tannenweg” leads onto the crest of Plainberg, where a first resting place with a reclining bench and a wide view to Hochstaufen invites you to pause.

It continues along the ridge, over Bruchhäuslstraße, always following forest path 54. After a short climb, you reach the Wolfschwang car park. From here, it is only a few meters to the magnificent viewpoint and the resting area in Wolfschwang. The return route leads again via the car park, but this time straight towards Latschenwirt. The well-passable forest road (trail 404) runs gently downhill through the forest. About halfway, the Kneipp facility awaits – perfect to cool your feet and take a short break. At the end, panels from the forest quiz path provide entertainment before the route ends back at the Latschenwirt inn.
