A jewel of craftsmanship history is the Oil Mill St. Julian with one of the last beam presses made from a single tree trunk still preserved in Europe. (Demonstrations by appointment).
A few places further in Offenbach-Hundheim, a small detour is worthwhile: the 3-aisled Protestant parish church Offenbach is an impressive testimony of the transition from Romanesque to Gothic. The historic pillory at the old town prison also suggests medieval instruments of law enforcement.
In Lauterecken, definitely plan a stopover in the historic town center. Here the Lauter flows into the Glan, and the area around the old Veldenz Castle is lovingly restored.
Your stage destination Meisenheim is soon reached. Particularly worth seeing are the historic old town with the noble courtyards and the largely preserved medieval town wall. Also notable are the former synagogue as well as the castle church with the Wittelsbach tomb and the Stumm organ.

Ulmet - Schrammenmühle - Rathsweiler - Sankt Julian - Historical Oil Mill - Glanbrücken - Offenbach-Hundheim - 3-aisled parish church - Wiesweiler - Lauterecken - historical old town - Medard - Odenbach am Glan - Meisenheim - historical old town
You start in Ulmet and follow the Glan-Blies cycle path along the Glan up to the junction at the Cappeler Bridge. Here you will also find the Flurskapelle, which is worth a short visit.
The Glan-Blies cycle path leads left over the bridge and before the junction to the federal road to the right on the roadside cycle path to Rathsweiler.
Here there is the possibility to cross the town on the pedestrian and cycle path or to bypass it along the signposted route by the railway line. Parallel to the draisine railway, you continue downstream on the Glan towards St. Julian.
The first district of St. Julian is Eschenau, in the former station is now the "small art station". Always alongside the draisine railway, the route goes through St. Julian and on to Glanbrücken.
You cannot get lost; the path follows the railway line through Glanbrücken and further on to Offenbach-Hundheim. Until Wiesweiler, the Glan-Blies cycle path always remains parallel to the railway line; in Wiesweiler, it turns right through the town and after a short climb turns sharply left onto an asphalted agricultural road, which leads directly to Lauterecken.
The Glan-Blies way crosses Lauterecken and leads past the station again near the railway line and the Glan over agricultural roads to Medard and further to Odenbach. In Odenbach, the road must be used inside the town; shortly before leaving the town, the path turns right in front of the playground. Now it goes straight ahead to Meisenheim. There, the Glan-Blies cycle path runs alongside the draisine railway to the former station; alternatively, there is a signposted route through the historical old town.

There are sufficient possibilities to get food along the route - but also many picnic areas. Adequate drinks and sun protection are therefore recommended, especially for the summer months.
On some bridge structures, the side path intended for bicycle traffic is only 1.20 m wide. Here you must push the bicycle.

The Glan shapes the stage and the pretty historic town centers of the village Offenbach-Hundheim as well as the two small towns Lauterecken and Meisenheim.
This stage becomes strenuous only if you want to see all the sights along the way. Because it is almost always flat near the Glan and the draisine railway through a varied and charming landscape.
A visit to the Historical Oil Mill (registration required, tel: 01 71 - 26 39 07 6) is one of the things you should not miss.
We also recommend a short walk through Offenbach-Hundheim and Lauterecken.
Allow sufficient time for the historic old town in Meisenheim.
The official length of the Glan-Blies cycle path is approximately 130 km.
Due to various detours to attractive destinations, the kilometer indications on different portals may vary!
