Summer fun in the Seetal!
The valley of castles and lakes stretches from Lenzburg via Lake Hallwil to Lake Baldegg in Lucerne.
The region is characterised by a charming landscape and a unique panorama of the Central Swiss Alps. The cultural wealth that awaits you in the valley is equally impressive. Lenzburg, with its car-free old town, is geographically located in the middle of the canton and forms the cultural centre of the Seetal. There is still a hint of the knightly era wafting through the alleyways of the little town. The town on the Aabach offers a prestigious old town, the hilltop castle and a history dating back to the Stone Age.
The Seetal valley offers fascinating landscapes, largely undeveloped lakeshores, the pretty Hallwyl moated castle from the 11th century, probably the most beautiful hilltop castle in Switzerland - Lenzburg Castle - and the over 100-year-old boat company on Lake Hallwil. Lake Hallwil is a popular destination for day trips. There are numerous restaurants and lidos in the villages on the lakeshore. The walk around the lake, which takes around four and a half hours, is also recommended.
