Mallnitz Mountain Advent in the Hohe Tauern National Park

From the info hut at Mallnitz-Obervellach station, the path leads along the stream promenade through the light path towards the town center (about 20 minutes' walk). Under the motto "Art in the Kärntnerhof," an art exhibition by various artists can be admired. Upon reaching the village square, you will find the Advent market with regional delicacies and handicrafts, framed by an atmospheric program. After another 5 minutes' walk, you reach the historic stock mills as well as the BIOS National Park Visitor Center (gnome workshop, exhibitions, etc.). The route continues again via a light path to the HOCHoben area. Here awaits a winter world with a toboggan hill, Christkindl post office, winter lounge, and supervised Advent crafting. Then you can visit the "Mini-Mallnitz" model railway near the church before the path leads back to Mallnitz-Obervellach station.

Transfer for a fee: The Christkindl Express (shuttle train) serves certain stops along the Advent path. No seat reservation necessary! Stops are station, HOCHoben, stock mills, village square.

Good footwear, warm clothing, hat and gloves, and possibly a headlamp or flashlight.

At some points along the path, it may be slippery depending on the weather.

Motorway A10 – coming from Villach/Italy
Via the Spittal/Millstättersee junction to the Lendorf exit, continue on the B100 until the exit towards Mölltal, then via the B106 to Obervellach. Turn right at the Staber car dealership in Obervellach and drive about 10 km via the B105 to Mallnitz.

Federal road B106 – coming from Lienz
Via the B107 to Winklern, turn right onto the B106 there, continue on the B106 to Obervellach. Turn left at the Staber car dealership in Obervellach and drive about 10 km via the B105 to Mallnitz.

Arrival by train to Mallnitz-Obervellach station (every two hours) - direct access to the Advent path at the info hut at the station Arrival by bus to the bus stops in Mallnitz (either Mallnitz-Obervellach station or Mallnitz municipal office / town). After registration, a comfortable arrival (Mallnitz-Obervellach station) is also possible with the Carinthia train station shuttle.

There are sufficient free parking spaces available for the Mallnitz Mountain Advent (parking lot at the station as well as in the town center near the cemetery, Tauernbad, or HOCHoben campsite).
