Naturbadesee Planksee

The Planksee (Plank lake) is located in the municipality of Obervogau in the district of Leibnitz and is a member of the small region "Alternative southern Styria region" and the "Nature Park South Styrian wine country".

The heart of the swimming lake is the wake park Planksee with a 6 pole waterskiing or wakeboarding cable car by the company Sesitec of Lerchenfeld GmbH. The modern 6-pole system without sharp bends serves professionals and beginners the same way. Especially beginners learn the wakeboarding and water skiing with less effort faster and easier. The wake park Planksee regarded as Austria's highest system. But even professionals get their money, because the higher the lift, the higher the jumps and the more spectacular tricks are possible. Modern technology makes it possible that 9 people can use the system simultaneously, which means short waiting times. In addition, on the length of about 780 m some of the most advanced obstacles throughout Europe can be found, as some kickers, slide boxes, fun box, flat box and stepdown box.

The Plank lake offers als well a beach that is equipped with an snack. Due to the good water quality and adjacent infrastructure of recreational opportunities the Plank lake and Obervogau is a popular recreation and leisure destination. In Obervogau you find horse farms, a skate park, a football field, a tennis court, a volleyball court and a possibility of bird watching.
