The residence of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, in which young aristocrats were also prepared for court life.

The Mozart residential house, also called "Tanzmeisterhaus", first mentioned in a document in 1617, consisted of two houses until 1685. On 3 August 1711, Lorenz Speckner was granted permission by decree to hold dance lessons for aristocrats in this house. According to the "soul description" (today: census) of 1713 the house is now called "Tanzmeisterhaus". The house was handed over on 9 September 1739 to Franz Karl Gottlieb Speckner (ca 1705 - 1767), the son of Lorenz, the princely dance master and "ante camera" chamber servant. At that time a dance master played no small role: he not only taught dance, but he also prepared the young aristocrats for court life and knew his way around the difficult court ceremonial.

On 15 November 1747 Franz Gottlieb Speckner was one of the witnesses to the marriage of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's parents. As early as December 1765, the Mozart family discussed whether it was necessary to look for a larger apartment - the apartment on the third floor of the Hagenauer House in today's Getreidegasse 9 comprised a kitchen, a cabinet, a living room, a bedroom and a study.
