SEVEN SUMMITS - In this case it is not the highest mountains on each continent, but seven fabulous mountain tours in the Hohe Tauern National Park, which are to reflect its character and diversity.

One of the Seven Summits is Zagutnigspitze in Obervellach, which shows sheer rocks if approached from Mallnitz and forest and mountain meadows if seen from Obervellach.

Route:
Kaponigbrücke in Kaponig Valley - Gatternigalm - Urbanalm - on a marked trail on to Zirmboden (steep!) - past Kaponigalm to Zagutnigspitz (narrow footpath, steep)

Elevation gain: approx. 1,400m
Walking time: 6 - 7 hours
Grade: not very difficult, however, there are narrow footpaths on steep terrain (slippery when wet - mind your step!!!)
