When people and objects become invisible before your eyes and you learn to see with the surface of your skin, then you have dared to take the step into one of the most extraordinary museums of this country.

In a permanent exhibition, the MUWA presents perception installations that focus on the astonishing effects on our perceptual apparatus: Irritating and paradoxical, confusing and pleasurable at the same time, they question a process that seems familiar and self-evident to us - our everyday sensual perception - and moreover make it comprehensible that perception is a process of individual and collective staging of reality.

In changing exhibitions works from the fields of contemporary art are shown, with the focus on Constructive Art. The MUWA is - as far as known - Austria's first museum dedicated to this art movement for more than 20 years and with the expertise of the opening personalities.

In addition, the MUWA is platform for cross-thematic events such as lectures, discussions or project presentations with cooperation partners from science and education, but also a venue for concerts of contemporary music.

In 1999 it was extended by a Samadhi-Bath, a brine-deprivation pool, which enables deep relaxation in the dark and can be used by appointment.
