Perfect bluebird weather and massive amounts of white gold underneath the boards and skis – the photo shoot at the Blue Tomato Kings Park started out great and came to an end with plenty of top-notch footage. The Blue Tomato team riders & friends give you an impression of their day at the royal freestyle playground.

“It has to be stated that this park’s REALLY long.” “Yeah, you can pack loads of hits into one run.” While travelling up the mountain via the Kings Cab, the park’s own gondola, the riders were having a little chat about the park. The freeskiers Sebastian Hein, Michael Gauk, Patrick Ertl and Tim van Dyck, as well as the snowboarders Felix Widnig, Harald Gietler, Michi Graf, Valentin Knill and Robin Maier, certainly all came to the conclusion that the Blue Tomato Kings Park’s setup simply rocks. That’s why the photo shoot just turned out great. The boys were having heaps of fun, which becomes more than obvious when looking at the pics and the clips. Cinematographer Denis Janezic certainly agrees, “We were able to capture loads of great footage, the riders were psyched on the setup and totally motivated. Besides, you hardly ever come across a park this long – it’s absolutely amazing for cruising around.”

Half-Time Break at the Chill Area
While relaxing at the chill area after countless runs, the riders were continuing their chat. “For me, the Jibcan’s definitely the highlight of the setup. The rails are pretty cool too, though,” freeskier Sebastian Hein says, while snowboarder Felix Widnig had nothing but praise for another obstacle, “The Volcano’s really brilliant, you don’t get to see something like this in too many parks. Plus, the Double Elbow offers plenty of smooth shred fun as well.” No sooner said than done – time for the next laps! There’s way too much to discover at the Blue Tomato Kings Park, to just hang out in the deck chairs.

A Fitting End of a Royal Session
“During the afternoon, the conditions at the park got really slushy, which was pretty cool,” Felix points out afterwards. “It was certainly an amazing day. There’s so many ways to ride this park creatively, we were having a great time,” Sebastian says. While the riders were heading home or directly to other photo shoots, the proper work for the cinematographer and the photographer was just about to start. Even a couple of days later, after the clips had been cut and the pics had been sorted, the media crew still enjoys thinking back to the session. Photographer Patrick Steiner is totally happy with how everything came together, “Great weather, great riders and a great park – it wasn’t too hard to come up with amazing pics!”
Action speaks louder than words, though.
