Wintervacation in the Lungau Region

When it comes to winter sports, the Lungau region is sheer poetry. In spite of all the sunshine, the Lungau area is seen as a magnet for snow in the Province of Salzburg. High levels of precipitation and a location at 1,000 to 2,400 metres guarantee excellent snow conditions and great skiing through to the end of April. In the Lungau, downhill skiers have a choice between the attractive ski areas of Mauterndorf Grosseck-Speiereck (2 min with free-skibus or car), Fanningberg (15 min with free-skibus or car), Katschberg (20 min with the free skibus or by car) or Obertauern (15 min with the free skibus or by car) which are connected by free ski buses. Cross-country skiers also get their money's worth with 200 kilometres of trails. In the Lungau region, you'll find everything you need for a fantastic and unique winter holiday. Action-packed days and sociable evenings. Wellness oases to massage the soul, great cross-country skiing trails, tobogganing, ski schools and romantic rides in a horse-drawn sleigh satisfy every guest's yearning for peace, fun and harmony.
